Oktobre heraldes muchas imaginumus mythologicus allegoricanus...


Today is the first day of October. This is probably my favourite month in the whole year because the days really start to get colder and shorter and Halloween is coming.

While I don't particularly like seeing rows and rows of pumpkins and zombie masks cluttering up shop shelves way in advance of the festival (commodification makes everything look and feel the same) it still remains a much-loved time of the year for me.
Samhain reminds you to revel in that twilight area where everything becomes cloudy and mysterious. So, here's to the summer's end and the celebratory spit-roasting of first born infants in the sacrificial flames of the Hallow tide.
